Process Serving

Service of process is the procedure employed to give legal notice to a person of a court or Administrative body’s exercise of its legal authority over that person so as to enable that person to respond to the proceeding before the court, body or other tribunal. Usually, notice is furnished by delivering a set of court documents (called “process”) to the person to be served.

Personal Service by Process Server

Personal service is service of process directly to the (or a) party named on the Summons, Complaint, Petition or Order. In many Court actions in the United Kingdom, personal service is required to prove service. In the United Kingdom the service of process is effectuated by a process server who must be of, at least, the age of 16 years and (in some instances) not a party to the Court Proceedings.

Civil Procedure Rules

Process must be served in a legally accepted manner in line with the Civil Procedure Rules, or service can be ruled ineffective which will affect the whole Court proceedings. It is therefore important to engage the services of an experienced and knowledgeable professional process server.
